Whether you bring your own bikes or hire them (which you can easily do online), the area around the square is wonderful to explore.

Our location is ideal as a starting point for your cycling tour or as a destination for a relaxing holiday. Whether in a holiday home, camping or in a hotel room, we have the perfect accommodation for everyone.

For the perfect cycling holiday, we have great pitches with private bathrooms. This means you don’t have to walk far to the toilet and can leave all your things in the bathroom – making your holiday stress-free.

Tip: The ‘Wiesencamping’ and ‘Süüdplaatse’ categories have a private bathroom and a small kitchenette for washing up – for an even more relaxing camping holiday. Many of our pitches can also be booked for tents, especially the “Wiesenfass” and ‘Wiesencamping’ categories.

Not interested in camping? Consider a holiday in a tiny house or hotel room.

Not interested in camping? We have really comfortable hotel rooms and great little holiday homes (‘Swedish houses’) that sleep up to four people. Outside the house, you have a large covered terrace – perfect for a cosy breakfast or as shelter from the rain on bad weather days. Towels and bed linen can also be booked directly.

Are you bringing your dog? We also have a few cottages that you can book with your dog.

Excursion destinations – accessible by bicycle

There are great destinations for young and old within a few kilometres. In addition to the Schloss Dankern holiday park (with high ropes course, battle kart and kart track, water skiing and adventure mini golf), Wildlands Zoo in Emmen is only 18 km away. Lions, penguins, monkeys and many other animals await you.

Tip: It’s only 3 km by bike to the Dutch border. Right on the border, you’ll find the Moor-Bargerveen Nature Park and the cosy town of Klazienaveen.

Hub system: route planning made easy

Fehndorf is part of the cycle junction network, a flexible and intuitive system of well-signposted routes covering more than 3,500 km of cycle paths in the border region between Germany and the Netherlands. Whether you are planning a short trip or a cycling tour lasting several days, the junction system makes it easy to plan your route and allows for spontaneous changes along the way.

Numbers are displayed at several intersections, which you can use to guide your journey. You can plan your route using the junction cycle map, the well-organised tour page of Emsland Tourism or the Komoot website. Both the cycle map and the route planner are also available at our reception.

Tip: Our location on the route of the 2-country tour, which leads through the German-Dutch border area and the Bourtanger Moor with its unique cycle paths.

No bicycle with you?

We also offer you the opportunity to hire bicycles on site: simply book online and start your holiday relaxed.

There should be something for everyone. We have e-bikes, Dutch bikes and even cargo bikes, which you can use to take your dog or child with you.

bicycle repair

You are welcome to borrow our repair kit from reception for minor repairs. We also have a great bike repair station right in front of reception, which you are welcome to use.

The workshops at Zweirad Wermes (Haren-Dankern) or Hollrad Zweirad (Haren-Rütenbrock) will be happy to help you if you have any problems with your bicycle.

There are many great places to visit both in the immediate vicinity and further afield. We have also compiled a list of worthwhile events in the area in our events calendar. If you would like to go on a longer trip, you can also hire a car from us and drive to Holland or the North Sea, for example.

On our premises

You can also enjoy a wonderful day on our premises: you can swim or go paddleboarding in our lake, go fishing (at the designated fishing spots) or simply relax in a beach chair with a book.

Cafe & Restaurant Cabana

You will also find our Cabana café and restaurant on site.
The Cabana is open all year round: in addition to Spanish main courses, you can enjoy pizza, tarte flambée, ice cream and cakes during the day. In summer, the terrace overlooking the lake is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail or beer.

Wellness at Veen Spa

At Veen Spa, you can book a private wellness room with a sauna, whirlpool, shower and relaxation area – some rooms also have a water massage bed. You can choose the room you want on the website, book it for two to five hours and then relax in complete privacy.

In addition to the wellness rooms, it is also possible to book massages on site.

Hairdresser and fitness

There is also a small hairdressing salon and a fitness room on our premises. You can book the fitness room privately for yourself – and then you are guaranteed to have all the equipment to yourself.
